Cat, Cash Rescued From Sunday Fire

OMAHA, Neb. -- Omaha fire fighters rescued a cat and removed a large box of money from a burning apartment.
Officials said the Sunday fire started in an apartment near 51st and Cass streets. No one was home at the time except a cat. The animal was treated for smoke inhalation.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Another resident caught fire Sunday night near Fifth and Pierce streets. Fire officials said they believe an overloaded circuit contributed to the fire, which was contained to the upper floor and attic of the house.
